This afternoon around 4, a Red Line train apparently caught fire on its way to Glenmont. Thankfully, no one was hurt, so we can joke about it.
Metro is saying the "disruption" has been cleared and is reporting no delays at this time. The Post has a few more details here.
We just thought we'd inform you, ya know, in case you wanted to bring some marshmallows for your next commute.
Hard to see how this one can be blamed on passengers holding the doors open.
In all seriousness though, this is the kind of thing to expect when a good chunk of your equipment is dilapidated. One day people are going to get hurt or worse.
