I'm sorry about your daughter, but this is pretty much SOP for Metro. I can't tell you how many times buses have blasted by stops where there are lots of people. No way the driver just didn't notice. Seems to be a point of pride among some drivers.
i've never been able to figure out the incentive for drivers to skip stops. they have to drive the bus for their whole shift anyways, right? why not just do your actual job along the way?

I think they mainly do it to get back on schedule. For instance, if they were stuck in traffic or some other type of delay, skipping a couple of stops could help them get back several minutes of that. Of course, they could also not like picking up certain "problem" riders at some locations.

Or just want to get back to the garage to go home early, too!
You are welcome, we were helping your daughter build survival skills. -Danny

Slave drivers. All of you!

Is the bus driver a slave or a driver? Discuss
So Metro and the Obama campaign both use the slogan "Forward." No surprise there!
At Soviet Metro, bus stops you!

Nice to see WMATA getting her used to their erratic behavior at an early age. At least she knows that she'll never have to raise her expectations as far as they are concerned. (Do I need to preface my comments as being sarcastic or are they obviously sarcastic?)
Just a note - this morning as I was walking from my bus stop to my office, across the street a bus - you guessed it - passed by a stop with people waiting for it. They yelled, waved, got the driver's attention ... and he drove across the intersection and about half a block up before stopping and allowing people to run and catch their bus.

So, what's your complaint? He's just concerned about their health and giving them an opportunity to get some exercise!
Probably did not see the stop or know that that was his stop. You know I found a lot of drivers fill in for other drivers and are not sure which bus stops are there bus stops. Maybe if the stops were color coded for the driver and riders to see right away.
Just a thought for everybody.
