No, not yesterday's massive Twitter outage.
On Wednesday, @metroopensdoors fired off the following three tweets, which we found rather funny.
@metroopensdoors Blue Line: Expect delays in both directions due to scheduled track maintenance outside Franconia-Springfield station.*
@metroopensdoors Blue Line: Disruption cleared. * @metroopensdoors Blue Line: Expect delays in both directions due to a switch malfunction outside Franconia-Springfield station.*
Honestly, the maintenance and malfunction may not be related, but if you think back to February, when a piece of track repair equipment derailed on the Orange Line causing major delays, it's not out of the question that "repair" work made things worse. @metroopensdoors Blue Line: Disruption cleared. * @metroopensdoors Blue Line: Expect delays in both directions due to a switch malfunction outside Franconia-Springfield station.*
H/t to @nevermindtheend for pointing this out.
While trying to remember the details of the February derailment (there was more than one), we came across this article in the Examiner in which Metro spokesman Steve Taubenkibel said “We have to take a very close look at our practices internally. ... We have to take a very introspective look.”
