McGruff Cancels DC Tour

Poor ol' disconsolate McGruff has his tail between his legs, a wee wee pad in hand, and no longer wants to make a stop here in the DC area. That's because his nemesis/assailant, Metrobus driver Shawn Brim is back behind the wheel careening through DC streets, free again to terrorize all who look at him funny.

According to Metro, which begged Brim to take a SAFETY job, he has been retrained. As @dcmetrosucks wondered, we too would like to know if PETA was involved in his reeducation.

Here's a McGruff homage. The last one contains some pretty heavy-duty potty humor, so keep that in mind at work.

What happens? You get punched!

These children will all get punched if they bring those on the bus.

And finally, when confronted with a bully bus driver...

So, how much training does it take to know not to stop the bus and punch out the Crime Dog?

Any time I have to ride a metro bus I will ask male drivers their name, if it's Shawn Brim I'm getting off immediately. I do not want to be punched in the face because he thinks it would be funny.

Drugs are bad, mkay... but with the VA Gov threatening to cut funding, and the board passing fare hikes, and the 10-car idiots being punished THIS is the news here? You guys do realize McGruff isn't a real dog, right?

If you have any additional insights into McDonnell/ fare hikes/idiots stories, please share. We'll post them if they're good.

I come here looking for insight! :-)

Just looking at the front page of the site right now you have McGruff, AeroTrain envy, and a friendly train operator. Just seems like there are bigger things at play right now that would help "unsuckdcmetro". No?

Many people have opinions about whether or not VA is doing the right thing, I still can't make up my mind on that one either way but it seems like it would cause a HUGE ripple in the system should they decide to hold the money. Maybe someone here could explain exactly what the repercussions would be for those of us wondering?

I appreciate your input, but running this site is a hobby I have to squeeze into my real life. I simply don't have the time to investigate and write about all topics all the time, even though I'd like to.

And honestly, the whole McGruff thing provides a HUGE amount of insight into just how sick Metro is.

Re: VA's move stay tuned.

Thanks for reading and providing your 2 cents.

Lovely. Just lovely.

A couple of weeks ago a bus driver blew past our stop. When we finally caught up with him and said he didn't stop at our stop, he completely freaked out and starting yelling at us. "I DONT HAVE TO GET OFF THE BUS AND SHAKE YOU TO GET ON! YOU DONT HAVE TO TALK JUST LISTEN TO ME!"

We repeatedly asked him to stop talking about it because we didn't care, it wasn't that big of a deal, and it got to the point where another woman got off because she couldn't handle his yelling. Seriously, we would say stop, and he would just keep yelling over. Eventually we got off as well. As we were disembarking, he said "Whatever, pushy f*ckin' white people."

We reported and, of course, nothing happened.

<3 bus drivers.

I voted for Deeds ok. McDonnell is insane. There is a Virginian on the Board, so wtf is he on about?

If VA pulls funding, DC and MD will follow suit and then what? Thank goodness I'm buying a bike next week.

@Liz: "As we were disembarking, he said "Whatever, pushy f*ckin' white people." See, by being white and complaining, you were endorsing slavery. That's why they have such a glorious union leader, to lead them out of the darkness of slavery into freedom!

Don't listen to the naysayers Unsuck. You do a great job of mixing news and humor. Love the site.
