Attention to Detail Instills Confidence

Via @tiptoe39 Shame, #Wmata, shame! #copyeditor #youneedone http://twitpic.com/455f7o

They just can't get this word right! Or this or this. And this was kinda funny, too.

Via @AgOhKnee Seriously Metro. This is how we spell "expedite?" Oh...#wmata http://plixi.com/p/86727342

You'd think they could at least spell their name correctly.

Quick Metro! This is an opportunity to bring on a full staff of spell checkers, each with a 100k+ salary! They can spend the next few months or years pouring over stuff like this, and you can always pay for it with fare hikes!

Actually, they could spend the next few years poring over stuff like this, while pouring themselves some nice cold beverages.

Grammar snob right here, ready with my (metaphoric) red pencil, ready to kick the butts of people who cannot tell a possessive pronoun from a contraction.
In re: the 'survey' ... I am tempted to forward the link to someone who writes them all the time. She has some fun rants about online surveys and how to ask questions.

Can I buy the answers to the spelling test they'll be giving out for this new spell-checker position?

I believe they'll actually require you to take a few courses on spell-checking. I've got source on the inside who says one of the textbooks will be "The Cat In The Hat."
