Unsuck Reader's Account Leads to Arrest of Alleged Molester

Last week, reader Allie wrote in with a description of what she said was a repeat molester on Metro.

Her efforts led to the arrest of a suspect.

This comment was made last night and confirmed today:

My Name is Investigator Lang I work with the Metro Transit Police. I would like to inform all of you that the above offender was arrested today 3/30/2011 thanks to detailed post by Allie. If there are anymore victims, I would like them to come forward. My email address is rlang [at] wmata.com. I appreciate any help anyone can give in this matter. Thanks.

"Investigator" Lang Badge Number 577 is a crooked cop who does not belong on the Metro Police force. Back in May 2008, he kept cursing at me and threatened to kick my ass as I was being escorted out of the Eastern Market Metro Station after I argued with the station manager for being rude to me after I asked about when the next train was coming, since I had no way of knowing. I was told not to come back to the Eastern Market Metro Station, so walked to and caught the Potomac Ave. Metro to Addison Road and I encountered Officer Lang again and he challenged me to a fight. I went in the opposite direction to avoid him and other Metro Transit officers noticed that Lang was coming after me and tackled me to the ground and put handcuffs on me. Officer Lang kept talking his trash to me and I told him that the reason why he could get away with talking trash to me was because he had a gun and a badge and without that, he was nothing. After that, Officer Lang acted in a cowardly manner. Instead of responding to me face-to-face, he snuck up behind me and peppersprayed me on the side of my face and my eyes. The officers also cut my backpack to shreds desperately trying to find evidence to use against me.

Officer Lang stooped even lower than he already did by lying and committing perjury by charging me with 6 counts of criminal acts including assaulting an officer, disorderly conduct, trespassing during normal business hours, failure to obey orders, among other ridiculous and false charges. Fortunately for me, those charges were dismissed. Right after my case was dismissed, I filed a complaint against Officer Lang and another officer for their misconduct relating to the incident to the Metro Transit Police Department, but apparently, they didn't do anything to rectify the situation. Cowards like the "Investigator" Robert Lang should not be on the Metro Transit Police force and this instance of police work does not undo the criminal act that Lang did against me. Both the guy who got arrested for inappropriately touching women and the "Investigator" Robert Lang are criminals who needs to be put away and I will continue fighting to hold "Investigator" Robert Lang Badge Number 577 accountable for his cowardly, wrongful actions against me even if it means going to court.

Charles, obviously you were causing a scene which required the police to be involved. Don't try and down play your actions and state your innocents. You were told to leave Metro grounds and not return, but then you did. I find it hard to believe that you innocently asked a station manager for directions, which resulted in police involvement. There's two sides to every story. So how about you share the TRUE details, and you yourself stop being a COWARD!!

You must be one of the idiotic crooked cops yourself to be saying those things since you didn't pay too much attention to what I was saying. First of all, the cops told me not to come back to the Eastern Market metro station, NOT THE WHOLE METRO SYSTEM. That means that I was not barred from going to any other station including Potomac Avenue and Addison Road. Secondly, my charges were dropped and the only reasons why they were is because of ALL the details that I shared on this blog, and the police report itself was proven to be unsubstantiated, so I AM INNOCENT. You need to stop being lazy and pay more attention to what you read and quit rushing to judgment because you make yourself look like an idiotic jerk.

Charles, I'm going to make some educated "guesses" and say that you are a "little man" who likes to prey on and harass young female station managers. When your advances weren't welcomed you were asked to leave. The fact that you turned away when you saw the police officers implies that you knew you were in the wrong as only the guilty turn and run.

If you do not like the Metro system, by as means find another form of transportation, riding the Metro is a privilege not a right. I'm sure no one will miss an individual like yourself who urinates in public as you have done on Metro property in the past. That is a crime last time I checked, as did the judge.

And about that urinating incident, actually I think I know who you are now. You were harassing me as I was urinating close to midnight on the outside of the Addison Road Metro station close to a wooded area where no one could see me and no one was out and about. There were no bathrooms at the Addison Road station and all the stores across the street were closed, so there were no place for me to go to the bathroom other than that wooded area. So how did you like taking a peek at my penis, you pervert! The only reason why the judge sided with you was because the judge apparently believes that cops can never be wrong and I represented myself at the bench trial. Yet I still wasn't convicted, so you can go screw yourself, Officer Lang. I still take the subway and you are not going to be able to stop me as long as I'm here in DC.

It’s encouraging to see that Unsuck is not only a forum to vent ones frustrations at delays, fellow riders or write witty one-liners; as in this report, Unsuck has served as an important avenue of information leading to the arrest of a person who was a threat to female patrons of the system.

Everyone is complaining about what metro transit police aren't doing......do u think u can do a better job......stop hitching they are doing the best they can! Would you be willing to risk your life daily for a bunch ofungrateful people who don't even bother to acknowlege the fact that they ars overwhelmed overworked and underpaid and appreciated. U bithch hitch notch about how bad the subway is then find another method of trasnportation.... we send our husbands sons brothers fathers and boyfriends to work to protect u worrying daily about the bs they encounter so if u think u can do a better.job of ridding the system of crime.......put up or shut up

When I complain about the transit police, I'm usually referring to the police department rather than the police officers. I commend the work the officers do, but I don't like the orders given to them (search for non-existent terrorists instead of preventing fights and such).

Which would explain of course why everybody is saying good work Investigator Lang and offering their praise?

As for your other comments, if you don't want to take some risks defending the public don't become a police officer-it is what police officers do-we don't pay them to hang out at the safest stations and violate metros no eating policy. Nor to sit around in administrative offices and push papers. I want more officers like Investigator Lang people who do there jobs and are happy to serve and whom will protect us from criminals.

Please don't represent police wives this way again, it's actually embarrassing. For one thing, it takes two seconds to write out the word YOU and two, that was barely literate. Just a hint, criticism is quite common so you may want to think about getting a thicker skin.
To other readers- I promise that most of us police spouses are adults who can handle criticism of the departments our husband's work for without taking it personally.

Good work Allie and Investigator Lang. That is why this forum is called unsuck-we aren't just here to bash metro, we are here to make it better and to get them to take out the trash. Keep up the posting everyone because now we know metro knows about us and hopefully reads what we write.

I actually think too it would be interesting to have a metro employees who don't suck area. I would almost worry though about having one of those that they would become targets for those who do suck though given how corrupt metro and especially the ATU is. I've had a few (yes few) really awesome great bus drivers during my travels. The driver who drives the 29 bus going East Bound from George Mason that gets to King Street metro around 11:30amish has to be the friendliest, nicest, and most knowledgeable metro employee.

I'm happy when "Relity" comes admist praise. We must give credit when do and not be blinded by true characters. I don't know Ofr. Lang but I've witnessed the corruption of one of metro's chief over the officers and was disappointed and called and he covered for the thieves! Some of the custodian workers are robbing metro daily-- no wonder meto needs money. Ask how they oversee supplies by custodians? Not all of them steal but you'll be surprised how many do and how much $ lost in that area of metro alone!

Charlie, take a deep breath. You had a bad experience but I have to agree with the post that said there are two sides to every story. I can't believe that this Investigator woke up the other day and took the initiative to follow up on a post on this site and actually made an arrest of an individual who inappropriately touched women is the same person for which you have such venom; his action just seems to show more dedication than what you describe. The number and subject matter of the rants that you have posted here seem to indicate a bitterness or hate toward an individual and since you mentioned that your 'incident' occurred in 2008, I think that you may have convinced yourself over the last three years of the 'facts' as you believe them. Attitude is everything and you will make yourself sick holding on to such hate. We should have coffee sometime.

You know another reason why Officer Lang should be fired? He charged the guy with the wrong crime. If he was smart, he would have charged the guy with sex assault instead of assault and battery. I've studied criminal law and people usually get charged with assault and battery if they were involved in a fight or other forms of altercations that escalates to violence without the use of a weapon. Since the guy's crime was sexual in nature, he should have been charged with a sex crime instead of a generic crime of violence. I don't think the assault and battery charge will stick as a result and it just shows how stupid Robert Lang is as an officer.

I have no idea what happened in your case, but the way it was handled was actually quite smart. Officer Lang was smart enough to get him charged in a real court in Virginia (Arlington) and not the worthless far leftist courts of dc. He was also smart and talent enough to get a confession out of the guy. The low life who was doing to this woman will probably plee bargin, but officer Lang has been dedicated in finding additional victims which should help add to his jail sentence. I'd say the case is being handled quite well.

Hahahahahaha. I can't tell you how many scumbags that I have arrested have told me they are studying "criminal justice." That and a dollar will get you on the bus. (Metro joke!) Just because you took a criminal justice course on the way to your bulls*%t Associate's Degree doesnt mean you know the law better than a proven, decorated professional like Investigator Lang. I'm not familiar with exactly what the suspect did in this case, but what I can tell you is that Assault and Battery in VA refers to any unwanted or harmful contact...it doesn't have to be the result of a fight. Sexual Battery has to involve the unwanted touching of sex organs. If you just touch a woman's leg or butt it's not Sexual Battery. "I don't think the assault and battery charge will stick..." Hahaha does any one else think it's funny that this Looney Tune has no problem offering an oppinion on something he knows nothing about?

Getting the charges dropped has nothing to do with officer Lang, they got dropped because the dc court system is run by a bunch of dumb left wing nut jobs who are turning the greatest nations capital on earth into a third world city. If you did this in Virignia you'd be in jail getting molested by the metro molester whom you'd be sharing a jail cell with.

There are good and bad in all races and in all political points of view, but your comments have made it easier to label you an intolerant Tea Party crackpot. I was there from 5:59pm to 6:35pm and NO ONE who talked their crap to me on this blog dared come down to Lincoln Park and talk that same crap to my face. What happened yesterday at Lincoln Park told me everything about the kinds of people on this blog who didn't like the truth about about Officer Lang.
