My eyes! My nose! I’m so sick.

You only really see this kind of behavior from some people in America…..Abroad, no matter where you go, people have enough shame not to how their naked feet on public transportation; a level of simple self-awareness (and stateside lack thereof) which goes beyond than just showing your dirty dogs on a public transit system, but we’re only talking about feet here and not carrying on high decibel ‘and…liiike…totaaallly’ conversations that all can hear, and/or showing off your muffin top midriff and/or still wearing clothes that you know in your heart you can’t quite fit into, not now, not ever. You don’t see this kind of shameless behavior in Milan, Vienna, Zurich, Hong Kong, Tokyo….only here.

Why is that?

Your premise is incorrect. This kind of behavior is not limited to the U.S.

Two examples of many: I was several rows away from someone with a nauseatingly acrid, putrid body odor in a bus in one of the supposedly exemplary European/Asian cities on your list. In another of the cities your list, I could not get away from a pervert who was dry humping me in a crowded subway car.

I consider these more offensive than loud inane conversation or showing one's dirty bare feet or overweight midriff.

While your two examples unsavory behavior are offensive in their own right; however, note that I was not directly referring to people with body odor or pervert types. These are examples which could be better referenced in a separate discussion/thread.
