I love how the back door doesn't seem to open until 2:00. As for that wheelchair thing I've been on two buses where it broke causing the bus to be taken out of service (and of course it took half an hour for the next bus to come by).

Why does it seem that the driver really doesn't care that now his bus is out of service? Oh that's right, He's a WMATA employee.

Seriously, why didn't the bus driver get up out of seat at all? He should have been up and out, trying to fix the problem instead of just sitting there hitting the stupid button. My goodness it just keeps getting worse and worse!!

you people are morons the driver was on the phone to control center getting help i presume, now you want the drive to fix his own bus!! do you want him to wipe your ass as well

Why can't the bus driver do at LEAST what the passengers were trying to do? Is the union so inept that drivers aren't allowed to try to fix their own bus before calling for backup?

I was on a bus with a broken wheelchair lift on Friday as well. Knowing Metro as well as I do, I expected it to be broken the minute I saw the driver attempt to use it.

The other day on the Circulator, the driver had to use a manual tool (like a crowbar) to open the ramp because his remote wasn't working. The bus was turned off. It worked just fine to let the passenger off once he'd turned the bus on.

However, this is better than the Circulator driver who FORGOT TO FOLD THE RAMP BACK IN and started to drive off with the back doors open and the ramp hanging out. She almost took out a bus shelter and group of pedestrians near L'Enfant Plaza before the yelling passengers got her attention.s
