When Trains Go Bump

The NTSB has released photos from the Nov. 29, 2009 collision of two 6-car trains at the West Falls Church Rail Yard. Metro said three, $3 million rail cars were damaged beyond repair, and all twelve cars sustained some damage.

Here's Metro's press release on the collision.

Good thing those were empty trains.

You can actually still see the smashed up vehicles at the West Falls Church rail yard.
Even with the 1000 series in the middle, they still get heavily damage and if someone was riding them, they could be severly injured. This proves no matter where they are on the train, they are still unsafe and need to retired ASAP
