Lost and Found Win

From A.:
I'm an Arlington commuter, so you will not be shocked when I say I have infuriating Metro experiences pretty frequently.

But I like to give positive feedback, too, and I email Metro just as much for commendations as complaints.

Here's a recent praiseworthy incident.

I received an envelope this weekend from Metro Lost & Found.

I didn't report a lost item; the only thing I could think of was when I called them about dropping my phone, over 2 years ago.

I opened the envelope and found a checkbook full of blank checks!

I had brought it with me a couple of weeks ago, and never realized I lost it.

It was very reassuring to know that some rider, some station manager and some central office person had all worked to get it back to me.

Anyway, I'm sure that people have this kind of thing happen all the time, just as I also have hot cars and track delays and breakdowns happen all the time.

Just thought I should praise Metro for working hard to get my stuff back to me.

That's good to hear. Honest passengers and honest employees. Very nice.

The Union defends family and friends who are not going by the established rules. This is a Socialist issue.
It seems the union officials who make over 100,000,00 a year plus get paid millions for keeping certain persons with criminal records and bad intentions employeed.
I am greatful for the tranist companies who installing the driver cams since there is no self discipline at dc metro and they have poor customer relations and no respect for others.
I choose over all to drive my car and I feel safer.
This is a good story. As someone who has turned in lost items before, I sometimes wonder if the station manager doesn't just throw them in the trash rather than deal with it.

They know you'll need your lost checkbook to pay for those Metro fare hikes!
Seriously though, this is nice. A sliver of hope.
Excellent! Thanks to the anonymous good samaritans! You saved a rider from what could have become a huge (and expensive) problem.
Someone did that on their own, because that's not their protocol. They contact you (phone/email), and then you have to traipse to PG County to retrieve it. You were quite fortunate.

That is a little odd, but, if the envelope actually was from "Metro Lost & Found" that would peak my curiosity. I guess anyone could put that on there as a return address, though.
that's great!

and, can we have a full seperate post on the Examiner article linked at the end of this one? Jackie Jeter is quoted as saying that when "they convinced us to accept the cameras [which found hundreds of drivers texting, speeding, etc.], they lied. They said it was a training tool." I don't know if she's dumb, evil, or just both.

If you only knew her you would know the answer to that. The comments she makes should go public!
