Is Blackberry Mocking WMATA?

Metro is very choosy about its image in movies and, apparently, commercials. Watch carefully. The station is way off, but the "train" is nearly spot on.

Thanks @map408psu

I don't get it. How would Blackberry be mocking WMATA?
The signs on the platform and wall say Gallery Pl-Chinatown, but you know it's not real because it's way too clean and bright . . . and where are all the brawling teenagers?
Wheeeeeee it's the little baby rollercoaster! It's what wmata would look like if they brightened up the joint. Only with more fatalities.

Oh, dang, I totally missed the writing on the wall.

DITTO! I've seen this commercial but did not get it. That is funny!

The only thing WMATA is the sign. The station looks like a BART (SF) station with the name changed.

So if they are mocking WMATA...what exactly are they mocking it for? Since the ostensible message of the commercial is that the new Blackberry/AT&T partnership mixes business and fun, are they mocking WMATA for not being "fun" enough?

Or are they are mocking WMATA for having tiny (relative to the size of its customer base), crowded trains? Maybe the advertising company that designed the commercial is based locally...

Maybe they didn't intend it this way, but it looks to me like they're mocking the rollercoaster feel that some of the trains have. fastfastfastBRAKEBRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEEEfastfastfast

GlenmontChica - You're right, I wouldn't be surprised if whoever came up with this is based in DC. This is like the Crackberry capitol of the world!

Or the commercials are aimed at urban areas, and localized for those markets...
It actually looks like a downtown (Midtown or North Ave) station from the MARTA system in Atlanta- which MARTA uses the same design trains as METRO.
I call BS - everybody on the little miniature train had a seat, which is totally unrealistic if they are trying to replicate Metro.
It's the LA Metro, on the Red/Purple Line. The amount of times this has stood in for WMATA on tv....check out the final episode of 24 Season 7 for the longest sequence of it in DC guise.
I know I am late to this particular party, but this is an AT&T ad.

What is above the Gallery Pl-Chinatown station?

The Verizon Center
