What's wrong? It is so wrong on so many levels. Faked photo? Hardly. Why would he bother to hold his leg up so high without propping it up? He sure doesn't seem like he's exercising.

What's wrong is MY HAND might need to hold that pole and it is anything but sanitary with his foot on it. Not to mention, who wants a crotch shot of that? Not to mention, downright rude and childish; his mother would be appauled to see how poorly he acts in public. Not to mention total lack of respect for his position as an employee. Not to mention, total lack of grace, civility and personal self respect.

He looks like he's trying to crack a fart.

Unsuck it is SO wrong of you to post a BLURRY/GRAINY image of this hard-working Metro employee, claiming that he belongs in some kind of "Hall of Shame". From this angle, it is unclear and there is not enough evidence to suggest that he is doing anything wrong.

You can try to tell me that his foot is on the handrail, but I will tell you that his foot could be hovering behind or in front of the handrail. And if you mention the reflection of his shoe on the handrail, I will tell you that it is photoshopped.

This man is a train operator. There are operators lounge in ever shop--cable tv, food, table, chairs and even a phone for them. But most importantly no viedo to shame you . Current rules for metro employees ----no cell phones use by employees on property on or off duty. I am sure he felt secure since he knows the union will spend thousands of dollars defended him if he is discipline. Hell I bet he will be supervisor soon. He may know that the more you screw up, the faster you move up.

This completely portrays METRO. The lack of respect for the uniform, the company that employs him, and the train where children put their hands. Seems to me to Typical Metro, nothing surprises me anymore.

Did you guys ever think maybe this guy DOESN'T WORK FOR METRO??? Think about THAT for a second before you go making crazy accusations about this innocent man. Remember that kid who stole the Metro Bus? He didn't work for Metro. But he was wearing a METRO UNIFORM!! Ever think this guy has a relative working for Metro, and maybe he just wears the uniform to get free fares??

Not work for metro? Umm, is it that common we should be concerned about it? True, we have heard of a case where it happened but as far as I can remember there was only one time we have heard about it. Is it that much of an epidemic over there? After all, the GM says that hiding problems is the worst thing that can be done so it must not exist beyond that one case, right?

Posting this blog is just plain WRONG!!!! on so many levels. First off it's according to the photo around 8:50 in the morning heading to New Carrollton so I'm willing to bet that this operator had been working the morning rush dealing with the idiot riders who won't let the doors close, leave trash on the trains and is on his way back to the yard at New Carrollton for a break. I'm also willing to bet that you and this operator are probably the only people in that rail car since ridership @ Deanwood heading toward New Carrollton at that time is basically 0. And as for his foot being on the stanchion please give me a break that's probably the cleanest thing that stanchion has seen, ie. passenger's butt cheeks, people who pick thier nose, sores, etc then hold the pole, sneezing on the pole. I could see if he was chomping down on a burger or gulping down on a soda or talking on his phone while OPERATING the train.

Comments like the ones above make the idea of WMATA fares being way higher a good choice

UNSUCKDCMETRO should remove this blog as it detracts from it's image

Yeah, silly saying something about someone kicked back on the train. He's probably Metro Management, Give them a raise, promotion and paid vacation.

WMATA has a lot going against it, you would like to think that Metro employees would want to display a more professional example on or off the clock. Because someone may take a picture and post it on a blog dedicated to UnSucking Metro.

Funny you should mention soda. Last Thursday I was taking the red line from Metro Center to Grosvenor. There was a WMATA employee on the train in full uniform sipping from a huge Popeye's cup of soda. Wish I had had a camera.

To all the people who seem to think that UnsuckDCMetro should "ease up" on this guy:

Eat a giant bag of dicks, please. I don't know where you people get off.

When you're on the civil service payroll, you're expected to conduct yourself with a level of decorum that is exemplary of being paid through the tax dollars of the populace. When folks see this type of disregard for being sanitary and proper, it sends a message to the public that WMATA, be it maintenance or administration don't really care about sending a message about competency or just being decent Metro riders themselves.

In short, this man is an employee of Metro. If he's not setting the example for how people behave on trains, who is? I can't tell you how many times I've been nearly driven to punch people in the face for acting like selfish asshats on the train. And now one of Metro's own does this? Ridiculous!

To be fair, the guy could be getting off a long shift and is exhausted and just wanted to put his feet up. I get that. Except that my wife often spends 11 hours at work a day, much of that time on her feet and does not ride the metro in such a way.

Because we live in a country with a free press and this man is on the PUBLIC payroll, he is 100% subject to criticism if he acts improperly. But this offense is really not that bad if you consider the many Metro drivers and operators who've been captured texting while performing their duties. So all he needs to do is not do it again. Better yet, he can come on here and comment. He can apologize, say something like "You guys are right, it was improper, my bad - won't happen again. Thanks for riding & supporting Metro." But that's unlikely because Jackie Jeter has taught her union members to proverbially thumb their noses at the public whenever possible and not entertain the thought for a second that Metro employees owe everything to the public that supports them, both in ridership and tax dollars.

So, USMDC is 100% correct in showing this photo. Those of you who want it taken down can go read the Bill of Rights AND the Metro Charter while you're at it.

Brandon, you are DREAMIN! You should be the one apologizing to this (supposedly) Metro employee. I bet he's saved your life before, and you didn't even realize it! That's what Metro does - they take us from Point A to Point B without taking our lives (most of the time). You need to learn how to appreciate these heroes.

It's called "doing their job." If they were ever to be regarded as "heroes" it'd have to be because (as I stated before) they were humble and acted like proper civil servants. Firefighters are heroes.

How can anybody be defending this guy? His foot is on the poll -- right where any of us have to put our hands to hold on. And he could just have stepped in dog s*** or anything else. Regardless of whether he is a Metro employee or not, this post is totally appropriate. If you don't want embarrasing photos of yourself online, here's a tip: don't ack like a tool on the Metro.

Actually, his foot is on the pole, not the poll. Metro employee or not, on duty or not, this is just rude. And if you are wearing your Metro uniform, you are representing Metro, even if you are on your way to "work" or on your way home. Act like a decent human being and not some moron who has never ridden public transit before.
