Metro has Gone to the Dogs

As the poster said, we also hope he found his owner.

With regard to Metrofail resulting in a $500,000 revenue loss, it's odd how there's no mention of personal fault. Metro says they believe it was due to a system update, but they never bother to say why the update was faulty, and more importantly, WHO was responsible for the faulty update. Seems to me that if a vendor installs an update that results in my losing a half a freakin' million dollars I'm sure as hell going to pursue recovery from the party at fault, the vendor. If metro was a private company they sure as hell wouldn't let this be just another "oops!"

Unfreakin' real! Ooops, bad software, oh well, just raise rates to cover our incompetence in installing software, planning for circumstances where failure might occur, and worst of all, failure to get to the bottom of the problem and recover, for the paying public, what's rightly theirs. What a joke. Honestly, who the hell wouldn't test this update first, and in doing so, realize tehy need to revert to the old software? It's not like they run 24/7, there are at least five hours when they're shut down and could have tested the gate system. I've gone from pity for their incompetence to utter contempt. worst run organization I've ever witnessed, by far.

I'm outraged at the amount of fancy purses on the Metro. Women - we get it - you have a fancy purse. I'd just like to get to and from work without having to see these fancy purses.

Here's hoping that dog didn't go sniffing the third rail.

Collar. Well groomed. Friendly too. Obviously not a stray. I'd take him. Ironic that he appears to be one of the more civilized riders I've seen in a long long time. Perhaps he's one of those new "Walmart greeters" that we've heard about... :-D

Okay, obvious question. How did a dog even get on metro? Aren't they not allowed in there unless they are handicap-assistance animals?

Then again, or wildlife.

A raccoon cousin slipped him in the side door perhaps?

I saw someone bring their cat on the Metro once. The cat was in a carrier, and seemed pretty well-behaved (if a little freaked out). The owner just walked right onto the train with it, and set the carrier under her seat. The station managers don't seem to care.
Aww, poor girl! At least she looked like she was having fun sniffing all the interesting smells. Someone should have at least looked at the collar on that dog's neck and called the number on it, I hope she gets home okay!

I love how there are tons of people in the train, and they take their time to film the dog, but no one steps up to the plate to solve the issue. Good work, guys!

Hi Bobby. These riders are just trying to get from one place to the next. They don't want chunks of their skin bitten off by some snoop dog.

Love, Corresponding Blorgs
Ummm, they're too important to stoop to such things. Or do you believe in slavery?

Seriously, I'm glad to see someone step in and alleviate the situation for the lost dog. Oh wait...Morons. Fail.
Finally, Metro comes up with a plan that actually improves riders' enjoyment. I wish all my cars had a dog in them.
This is sick! This is DISGUSTING animal cruelty. PETA should be ALL over this. What kind of horrible human being ever make a dog take Metro???

What kind of horrible transit agency would ever make a human take Metro???
As a dog owner, I have called out of work and gone far, far out of my way many times to connect lost dogs with their owners.

This is heart breaking - we "hope" the dog found his owner? What the hell?

It takes two minutes to hold a dog by the collar, punch a number into your cell phone, and call to arrange a meet up with a dog owner. Or call animal control. I don't care if these people have "places to be" that dog could fall onto the track, get caught in the doors, or be taken home by some psycho. This is ridiculous.

THANK YOU!
D'aww... I wanna pet the puppy. I love how it stood in front of the door so quizzically when the train stopped--tail wagging and all--and suddenly realizes, "Whoops, I should move." (Certainly more courteous than many who ride by the doors.)

What I love the most though is that the dog--in true hound form--has its nose to the ground on every step through the car. It reminds me of how my dog was when my parents brought him into D.C. for the first time for a visit where he looked like a vacuum manically sniffing up every scent in his path.
This is sad. I really hope somebody stopped to help.
Typical commuters. Ignore (or take video) and don't do anything to help.
