resisting arrest! should have punched him a couple more times. nothing like trying to arrest someone when all the savages around you are looking for their chance to jump in.

How did you come to the conclusion that those bystanders were "savages?"
Impossible to say what the camera didn't catch, but from what I saw no.

BTW, the bystander interviewed comes across as a very intelligent and well spoken individual. I would trust his judgement on the gathering, hostile crowd's threat to the police officers better than the officers themselves.....
What station is this? "Branch Avenue - Huntington stop"?(!) Not only are those two completely different stations on two completely different lines (in two completely different states) but both are basically outdoors and the video looks like its in the mezzanine of a tunnel station.

They probably meant to say L'Enfant Plaza which is a transfer point for both lines... and a popular spot for "teen activity."
There is nothing at all that says "excessive force" in this video. Just people looking to get a story, and officer's doing their job.

They used the force necessary to compel compliance during an arrest. As for the crowd, they should have moved on. It IS a crime to stand by when instructed to move on by a LEO.
We don't know what the third person did to provoke the officers. That's the problem with most videos - there's always a part missing so we can imply all we want, but we weren't there, so we'll never know.
More problems and Metro just wants more money!
I can conclude nothing from the video.
Perhaps if I ran it over and over I might be able to figure out something.
The eyewitness account doesn't add much.
So, with a video and eyewitness and still knowing nothing--what a boring story.
It would have been nice if the footage also continued to back up the claim that the crowd was pepper sprayed after the takedown.
After watching a robbery at 9:30 by a kid looking to be 14 years old, and the impact his actions had on the 5 men who stopped him and returned the items back to the owner, I understand why force may look excessive. This kid was held and then went crazy potentially hurting good people just trying to help.
Robbery - theft should be punished appropriately. If that means extra force to ensure the person is maintained - so be it. AND METRO needs police at key stations at all rush hours.
They looked like teenagers to me! And these teens on the Metro don't respect anybody. This teenager played Lil Wayne the whole trip yesterday on the Orange line to New Carrolton. Kids, old ladies & I had to listen to the most vile language that made me blush, and thats hard to do being black and all!
It was hard to tell anything from the video- it was dark, murky, grainy, and jerky. Who can say either way?

Fox 5 and this blog makes these bogus stories out of nothing. they know metro has a crime problem, but makes a suggestive tittle as to make me you believe that this video is about bad police officers and not about juveniles fighting and robbing people.. I feel sorry for these officer, they should just let these people commit these crimes cause the minute they intervene the camera phone and the story is on them not on the bad guys..

For those who can't follow the simple rules of no eating, and headphones for listening to "c"rap music. Maybe more "interventions" like these will make the Metro less of a horrible ride. As for this video, it's not complete, so how is anyone supposed to make a critical judgment? And lastly, this guy's iPhone video skills suck.
Typical Fox 5 reporting... Do not focus on the crime that is occurring in Metro, just make up a story based on someone's IPhone video which tells us nothing. I applaud the officers who are finally taking some action against these thugs that troll the Metro lines! If you use Metro and are a respectful, well behaved individuals, the transit police are not going handcuff you or wrestle with you. Metro is for getting from one place to another, not an entertainment venue or a hang out for teenagers or thugs and I hope we see more of these arrests soon!
There are too many extremes in these situations. Either the police are not doing enough or they are doing too much. In order to get the message across and for it to spread throughout the system they have to do this.
