Burnin' the Midnight Oil

From Jenny:
Unfortunately, I had the pleasure of taking the Metro from Vienna to Clarendon in early March. I usually never take this route, and little did I know there was track work--on a Friday night--right when a Caps game let out.

It took me two hours to go six stops after waiting forever for the initial train, then transferring to a shuttle bus at West Falls Church and waiting at East Falls Church for almost 45 minutes.

I looked over at the end of the East Falls Church platform and what do I see? A bunch of WMATA employees milling around the “construction office,” which was essentially a desk, chair and lamp underneath a passenger shelter.

Just had to share.

Did you know the union recommends doctors you can go to to get a "doctor's note" Maybe the union sent her to a doctor. I can't believe that she stayed off that long without surgery.
Do metro bus and train operators have to bring in their driving records every year? I know they have to show the metro ID but not their driver's license.
Now there's something you don't see every day. Awesome pic!

Ingenuity at work! The view must be nice.
The train operator who ran the red signal and derailed the train was fired.

She will get her job back and If she doesn't then, "...you must believe in slavery".
I guess I'm the only person that goes to work and have a conversation with fellow co- workers. You people are unbelievable. Maybe I need to work for the gov't where they take 2hour lunch periods and go to hair appointments on company time. All seriousness its late and I'm sure that supervisor has been out there all day giving the same info to people that dont listen. I think he need to be confortable too. Maybe if the public pay attention he wouldnt have to be out there holding their hands like kindergardners.
